The result of orthodontic treatment is not just a beautiful smile; its primary purpose is to restore lifelong function and proper biting patterns to the teeth. Dr. Michael Sabat and his staff invite your questions and will be pleased to provide you with a better understanding of your treatment at any time. We offer a wide range of services for our patients:

When to See an Orthodontist: The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that children be seen by an orthodontist by the age of seven. The purpose of an early visit is to evaluate whether changes in the child’s jawbone patterns are needed. If changes are needed, plans can be made to begin treatment at an ideal time. There are several advantages to early treatment. If detected early, harmful habits can be corrected to avoid further, more extensive treatment. Dr. Michael Sabat specializes in using removable, functional appliances that work with your child’s growth and development to help correct the teeth and facial balance.

We provide an early intervention program called “Future Sabat Smiles Club.” This enables us to follow our patients and their siblings so Dr. Michael Sabat can monitor growth and dental development to determine the ap-propriate time for early intervention if needed. There is no charge to join our club. Once a member, the children will be monitored at 6 months intervals at no charge. They can also participate in our contests, will receive birthday wishes, and can attend our Patient Appreciation Skating Party.

Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment: The first phase of treatment is usually done when there is a mix of baby teeth and permanent teeth. This phase corrects skeletal and functional problems such as: severe protrusions that are generally caused by a small lower jaw; cross bites, which can cause facial asymmetry, severe crowding, and alleviate the need for removal of teeth in the permanent dentition. Taking advan¬tage of your child’s growth and development offers a better and more stable treatment result. The sec¬ond phase of treatment is started when all the permanent teeth are available to align and detail.

Comprehensive Orthodontic Treatment for Children, Adolescents, and Adults: Most people think that orthodontic treatment is just for children. The truth is, people of all ages are now involved in orthodontic treatment. The benefits of orthodontics are numerous: a beautiful smile that increases one’s confi¬dence, properly aligned teeth to improve your chewing and speaking ability, and healthy teeth and gums.

Damon System: The days of having braces tightened are over. Damon System braces have a unique slide mechanism that reduces pressure on your teeth and allows them to move more comfortably to their correct positions. With this bracketing system, once your treatment has begun your appointments are scheduled at 8 to 12 week intervals and in certain cases, treatment time is even shortened. Passive self-ligating brackets eliminate the need for elastic or metal ties. The high-technology wires align your teeth, even those with a lot of crowding, without the need for extraction of any permanent teeth.

Invisalign®: A clear alternative to braces. Invisalign is an invisible solution to moving teeth. By using a series of clear, removable aligners, Invisalign straightens your teeth right before your eyes. Not all orthodontic problems can be treated using them, but our orthodontist will be able to let you know if you are a candidate for Invisalign.

Pre-Prosthetic Orthodontic Care: Orthodontic care is often needed before crowns, bridges, or implants can be placed. Dr. Michael Sabat works with your general dentist, periodontist, or oral surgeon to follow a specified treatment plan to stabilize the teeth in the arch, and at the same time, reserve a space for the replacement tooth or teeth.
